Embracing the Challenge: Fears and Reconnections

Hello there! It's Caitlin here, taking you along on my journey with Conclave Creative. A few weeks into this new adventure, I find myself reflecting on a significant challenge that many of us face but seldom talk about openly – the fear of failure and the daunting task of reaching out to old contacts.

As I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey, the fear of failure was like an uninvited guest at the party. The thoughts of 'What if it doesn't work?' or 'What if I'm not taken seriously?' often clouded my mind. However, I realized that fear, in its essence, is a natural part of growth and stepping into the unknown.

Taking the first step to reconnect with my network was a mix of nostalgia and nerves. I've been in hospitality for over two decades but reaching out in a new capacity was a different ball game. Surprisingly, these conversations opened doors I hadn't anticipated and rekindled professional relationships in meaningful ways.

The most unexpected outcome? The overwhelming support and interest in Conclave Creative. Whether it was a simple 'good luck' message or a genuine interest in collaboration, each response added to my confidence. This process taught me the power of vulnerability and authenticity in business.

If you're standing at the edge, hesitant to make that call or send that email, here's my advice: Just do it. The worst response you can get is a 'no,' which is not a reflection of your worth or capability. Remember, every successful person has faced rejection at some point!

Looking back, I realize that stepping out of my comfort zone has been the most rewarding part of my journey so far. It's in these moments of uncertainty that we truly grow. So, if you're on the fence about reaching out to that old colleague or mentor, consider this your sign to go for it. Who knows what doors it might open?
